Double trouble
When Kim Taylor's cousin Mia and Mia's Persian cat come to stay for the holidays, Kim finds them not nearly as fun to be with as she had hoped. Fortunately, she discovers a tabby kitten. The kitten, whose name is Flame, has magical powers and is really a prince who hides in the human world for short periods of time in different kitten guises. Flame becomes her friend and saves her and the holiday while he hides from the evil uncle who killed his parents and is trying to steal his throne.

Summary
Double Trouble
Flame is prince and heir to the Lion throne but he is not yet strong enough to stand up to the evil uncle who killed his parents and is trying to claim Flame's throne for his own. Flame must hide in the human world as a kitten but can't stay in any place for too long for fear of his uncle finding him. So Flame travels from family to family in various kitten guises using his, often chaotic, magic spells to help those who need it along the way. Kim can't wait for her cousin Mia and her cousin's Siamese cat, Bibi to visit. But when they turn up neither cousin nor cat are half as nice as Kim remembers and proceed to make Kim's summer really horrible. But when Kim discovers a tiny silver tabby kitten with emerald green eyes looking up at her in her garden shed, things seem to magically get better . . .
