When beautiful young princess Aurora is cursed by the wicked fairy Maleficent, her three fairy godmothers try to protect the princess by taking her to live in the forest and renaming her Briar Rose. When she returns to the castle on her sixteenth birthday, she falls under a spell which puts her to sleep for a hundred years, until she is rescued by a handsome prince. Based on the 1959 Disney animated film which was in turn based on the folktale.
