Toddler-PreS-Readers join a baby blue monster in a fun-filled day at Monster Park where he plays, finds courage, learns to share, has a "boo-boo" healed by his dad, and throws a tantrum when it is time to leave. The active rhyming text is perfect for preschoolers. "Monster ride./Monster hide./Monster climbs the tallest slide!" In the end, Monster is comforted by his relationship with his dad, knowing that the park can wait until another day. Soft and fuzzy monsters of various colors, shapes, and sizes appear; all are friendly and nonthreatening. VERDICT An entertaining read for monster storytimes.-Gwen Collier, Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, NY c Copyright 2016. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
