A walk across the sun : a novel
17-year-old Ahalya and her 15-year-old sister Sita are left orphaned and alone after a tsunami rages through their coastal Indian home. They are taken in by criminals and forced into a world of violence and underground commerce. Half a world away, Washington D.C. attorney Thomas Clarke decides to pursue a pro bono sabbatical in Mumbai prosecuting human trafficers. When he hears of the sisters' plight, he decides to make it his personal mission to save them.
