Richard Kilmer is head over heels in love with Jennifer Ryan, who takes him home to meet her parents. There she accepts his marriage proposal, and they set out on a drive up to Kendrick Falls. But a freak storm causes Richard to lose control of his car, and it rolls. And Jen is gone. Richard can't find her. The police can't find her. No one in Richard's life will even confirm Jen's existence, and all traces of her have disappeared.
