When DS Alex Morrow, heavily pregnant with twins, is called in to investigate the savage murder of a young women in her home in a wealthy suburb of Glasgow, she soon discovers that the murder has ties to the suicide of a rich banker at his Kent mansion hundreds of miles away and to the deeply damaged children and broken wife he left behind.
