Divorce-attorney Harper James is an incurable pragmatist when it comes to relationships. When her stepsister, Willa, plans a whirlwind wedding to Harper's ex-husband Nick's brother, the festivities mean Harper must spend a weekend in Montana confronting her complex feelings about Nick. Their attraction is undeniable, but both are still hurt over their relationship's end. A travel mix-up leads to Harper sharing a ride across the country with Nick, and they finally have the chance to address their failings. Harper realizes her mother's abandonment affected her ability to fully commit, while Nick learns how his putting his career first meant that Harper was abandoned once again. Of course, this wouldn't be a romance novel if the pair didn't rediscover their passion as they take a literal and metaphorical journey together. Up-and-coming romance author Higgins (All I Ever Wanted, 2010), will charm readers once again with love and laughs.--Walker, Aleksandra Copyright 2010 Booklist

Higgins gives likable divorce attorney Harper James a second chance at love in this funny, poignant romance. Harper is horrified when her stepsister, Willa, announces that she's marrying the brother of Harper's ex-husband, Nick Lowery. Harper and Nick married young, and while their relationship quickly flamed out, the spark between them never really died. Due to a travel snafu after Willa's wedding, Harper and Nick are forced to journey across the country together. Soon, Harper is examining the reasons their marriage failed, her unresolved feelings for Nick, and her abandonment issues. Harper's jaded views on love and marriage add both humor and pathos, as do several secondary characters struggling with their own relationship troubles. Readers will be cheering for Harper all the way to the cutesy rom-com ending. (Apr.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
