The plane carrying a prominent psychiatrist suffering from a peculiar dementia, and which is flown by an FBI agent, goes down among the Appalachian Mountains. The two men are saved by a woman who escaped a murderous attempt on her life, and who is the daughter of a senator killed in a recent automobile accident. The FBI agent tries to determine if all these misadventures are connected and, if so, why and who is behind them.
