The attraction between the free-spirited and liberal Tess Newhart and the ambitious, conservative lawyer Nick Jamieson is instant, and their efforts to find a workable middle ground are comic and romantic. Madison Vaughn reads with a blithe, peppy presentation, which works well for the story and Crusie's writing style. For the most part the characters can be easily differentiated, and Vaughn's performance makes for easy listening. Crusie fans and romance readers in general will find this audio rendition of one of the author's first books a delight. A Harlequin paperback. (Feb.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
