In "Eros" Verga tells the crisis of a world. This novel, within its limits of content and form, represents a significant step in the narrative of the Sicilian writer (influenced by the artistic movement of "scapigliatura"), a need for simplicity and naturalness, of truth, after so many tricks of feelings, of situations, of language.
