When ambulance workers Maisy and Charlie receive a call for help, she turns on the siren. Traffic stops as they drive to the scene of the accident. Eddie (a roller-skating elephant) fell and bruised his trunk. After Charlie applies an ice pack and Maisy bandages the bruised trunk, it's time to go. Young children alarmed by sirens may find this board book a source of reassurance, particularly since Maisy is such a widely known character. The story is simply written, and, like children's own pictures, the brightly colored illustrations are pared down to essentials. A comforting introduction to ambulances.
