Misty Carlisle works as a bank teller in Boston, and is having a typical work day--until Gabe Fierro shows up. She's had a crush on him since they were kids, and he keeps coming to her bank to cash his paychecks. Why can't he just get direct deposit like everyone else? Gabe is a firefighter...and a phoenix. He's always liked Misty more than a friend, but is afraid she'd run for the hills if he found out who he truly is. But when the bank gets held up, Gabe does everything he can to protect her.
