Victorian journalist Edmund Whitty goes undercover to expose a phony psychic, but during a seance, he is contacted by the spirit of his brother, David, an Oxford scholar and athlete who drowned mysteriously years earlier. Then Edmund receives a compromising photograph of David which seems to implicate his involvement in a pornography ring.
