In Regency-era England, Lady Margaret Landor fears that someone is trying to kill her guardian, the Earl of Edgewood. She persuades the Earl's estranged son, now a deadly mercenary known as The Raven, to return to England, but is obliged to pose as his wife as they try to uncover the plot.
