Mardi and Molly Overbrook have never really had a normal summer or a normal anything, as they happen to be daughters of Thor, the god of thunder, living in the mortal world. But their latest summer in North Hampton gets strange even for them when they learn their mother is a mysterious tennis star who disappeared from the sports world 17 years ago and has just returned to competition and her daughters' lives. But that family secret isn't the only thing the Overbrooks have to deal with; they also have to contend with prophetic dreams and boy trouble. This follow-up to Triple Moon (2015) is a fun read that sprinkles in just enough mythology to ground the fantasy world without slowing down the narrative. The constant name-dropping, both of celebrities and brands, can get distracting, but it's done in service of the girls' engaging and distinct voices.
